They are more frequent in the elderly, where they combine to form a major cause of pain and disability. Indeed some three quarters of elderly people suffer from foot deformities.
Foot care is important to ensure a healthy active life, with feet that function normally and without discomfort.
Prevention, diagnosis and treatment of problems requires considerable knowledge, expertise and practical skills, and so the registered chiropodist/podiatrist undergoes extensive training.
Appointments can be made at Healthways on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. A ground floor surgery is available.
