What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a safe and effective form of medicine which uses tiny doses and is based on the idea that like cures like. It is a holistic medicine that treats you as a whole person, rather than treating the part of you that is ill.
How does it work?
Homeopathy works by triggering your body’s own healing ability. This treats the root of your problems rather than just your symptoms.
What can it treat?
Homeopathy can be used to treat many health problems, including:
- Headaches and migraines
- Digestive problems such as irritable bowel syndrome
- Eczema, psoriasis and other skin conditions
- Stress
- Anxiety and panic attacks
- Asthma and hayfever
- Insomnia
- Depression
- Rheumatism and arthritis
- Period problems and menopausal symptoms
- Allergies
- And much much more…
It can help with many conditions that do not respond well to drugs.

What does treatment involve?
The first consultation is comprehensive and lasts up to two hours. During this time you are encouraged to talk about your health problems in detail. You may also be asked about your general energy level, your likes and dislikes, and your medical and family history. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about your health and homeopathy.
Your case is then analysed carefully and a remedy is chosen to suit you. This can take some time, so prescriptions are usually sent to you shortly after the consultation.
A follow-up consultation is arranged, usually a month later. This lasts up to an hour, and allows your response to treatment to be reviewed. Further follow-ups are arranged as necessary, with most people needing between four and six visits over a six-month period to obtain maximum benefit from treatment. Telephone advice is also available between consultations.

I became interested in homeopathy after my daughter was successfully cured of a long-term health problem by a homeopath.
After using homeopathic remedies at home for first aid and basic health problems, I decided I wanted to learn more. I trained for five years at the North West College of Homeopathy, and am a registered member of the Society of Homeopaths.

Fees include the cost of homeopathic remedies and treatment of any acute problems that may occur while you are a regular patient.
Home visits
Home visits are available to people with mobility problems, as the consulting room at Healthways is on the first floor. Please enquire if you are interested.
